No big surprises in the ingredients list

Mid-tier reviews

Under the name of VitaPost's parent company, Vita Balance Inc., the makers of Colon Detox Plus have an "A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau with no complaints filed there. But, there aren't as many product reviews as we'd like to see - just 59 at the time of our review - and they averaged a less-than-glowing 3.8 stars out of 5. Only 50% of customers give the supplement a perfect 5-star rating, and nearly 20% give it just 1 or 2 stars. It seems to work for some but not for others - which is pretty common among colon cleansers, but unfortunately this one doesn't offer any kind of refund policy or satisfaction guarantee.

Below average among more effective rivals

Although we don't think you have anything to lose by trying Colon Detox Plus (except 15 days of your time and $30 out of your wallet), it's just not the most compelling colon cleanser on our list. Reviews may not be legit

However, we weren't thrilled with the reviews for the 15-Day Colon Cleanse: at first glance, they look great (a 4.3-star average across nearly 700 ratings), but the Fakespot tool we use to take a deeper look wasn't impressed. That analysis said that there could be deception involved, and that as much as 30% of the reviews "aren't reliable”.

No easy way to reach the company

It also made us uneasy when we tried to get more information about the company behind this colon cleanser. The labeling says that 15-Day Colon Cleanse is "made in the USA” by thinbi , but we also found references to business names like Artnaturals and Virgin Scent Inc. Looking at the product label, there's no contact information or phone number either - so if you get a couple of days into the cleanse and start having disturbing side effects, who do you call?

Product marketing is less than reassuring

Finally, even the branding for this product is a little... shifty. One image shows a label focusing on the main ingredient, berberine. But, another focuses on it being a colon cleanse with the additional benefit of being a "parasite cleanse for humans” with 1500 mg of... something it doesn't reference on that part of the label (even though we know it's talking about that berberine). And, yet another talks about this product as a "ketogenic” cleanse. 15-Day Colon Cleanse seems to be pitching itself in too many ways. And, don't get us started on typos: "helathy weight” and using the word "whilst” for a supplement supposedly made in the USA are just two of the things we spotted.

We don't recommend this colon cleanser

At the end of the day, is 15-Day Colon Cleanse a product you can safely put into your body? We wouldn't trust it, and we don't recommend that you experiment with it either. If you're looking specifically for a parasite-eliminating cleanse, there's at least one other product on our list designed for that (and that gets great customer feedback). For any other reason for your colon cleanse, you'd be better off going with one of 15-Day Colon Cleanse's higher-ranked competitors on our list. Skip this one altogether.

Inconsistent dosage instructions

You'll take 1 capsule of this product twice daily, though the dosage instructions vary: in one place, Green Valley Naturals says to take Colon Ultra Cleanse in a 2-capsule dosage at bedtime, but in another they recommend taking 1 capsule twice daily. Either way, make sure you're drinking at least 8 oz of water at the time you take this laxative-style colon cleanser.

A few caveats

There are some additional warnings when using Colon Ultra Cleanse. First, it's not recommended to be taken more than 7 days at a time, or to take more than 6 capsules within a 24-hour period. It's not recommended for children under 18, and if you're taking other medications, the psyllium in this supplement can affect their absorption. Check with your doctor to make sure that this colon cleanser is safe for you; you may need to allow for at least 2 hours between taking your meds and this product.

One of the biggest reasons that Colon Ultra Cleanse is at the bottom of our list is the "F” rating and associated alerts from the Better Business Bureau. The BBB reached out to the company, asking it to substantiate some of the health-related claims it makes, but that request was met by radio silence (at least as of the date of our own evaluation). There was also an alert regarding free trials leading to enrollment in full-price auto-ship subscriptions, but you may not encounter that in the marketing for Colon Ultra Cleanse (depending on where you're looking at ordering it).

Not sure we can trust the reviews

Even ignoring what the BBB says, the reviews for this colon cleanser are troubling. We used Fakespot to analyze the 60+ ratings we could find, and the tool said that there is "high deception” involved and only 36% of those reviews are reliable. Given that they weren't that glowing to begin with (3.8-star average), it makes us wonder if the only legit ratings were the negative ones. The biggest complaint is about spending nearly $50 for something that doesn't work. The company does offer a 90-day money-back guarantee, which is the only thing keeping Colon Ultra Cleanse from earning our lowest possible rating.

Go with a higher-rated colon cleanser instead

The BBB isn't confident in this manufacturer, and neither are we.
